Main technical features
The press brake realised for Leonardo S.p.A. is characterised by the Easy Design and is designed with a 500 mm open-height and 300 mm Y-axis stroke.
This bending machine is equipped with the Gasparini Adaptive Crowning System and the E-Reflex Deformation Compensation System. Together, these two systems provide excellent results in terms of quality, accuracy and repeatability of the parts to be bent.
Clamping systems
The customer chose the 100 mm high Toolever self-aligning lever-operated adapters for the upper manual clamping system. The lower is also of the manual type.
Thanks to the tool-free lever operation, these tool adapters save a great deal of time compared to traditional screw clamps.
CNC and Software
For the CNC, the Delem DA-69S was chosen:
- 24″ high resolution touch screen (16:9)
- DXF import
- STEP and IGES import (via offline)
- 3D visualisation
- 3D and 2D programming
- 3D visualisation of an offline programme
- Offline software included: 3D Profile-S
Backgauge
The backgauge is 4-axis (X-R-Z1-Z2) CNC-controlled, and has an additional stop on a backgauge reference. In addition, Leonardo’s press brake is equipped with two retractile back supports, featuring polyethylene profiles that allow even the thinnest sheets to be supported without scratching their surfaces.
Iris Plus laser safety and angle control system
This press brake is equipped with the Iris Plus laser safety and angle control system. This safety system uses a two-dimensional matrix sensor to read the entire area around the punch tip. With an optical resolution of only 2 mm, it allows the speed change point to be set 0 mm from the sheet metal. The cycle time is greatly reduced: up to 3 seconds saved per fold.
