Press brake 225/4000 for VDM Logar

Our collaboration with VDM Logar, a Slovenian company specialising in the production and maintenance of industrial machinery and equipment, has resulted in a customised press brake. It is a machine that represents the perfect balance between innovation and attention to detail. The machine has a capacity of 225 tonnes and a working table length of 4100 mm, the open-height is 500 mm and the stroke 300 mm.

Bending angle control

This press brake with Easy Design is equipped with the Gasparini Adaptive Crowning System and the E-Reflex Deformation Compensation System. The combination of these two systems gives excellent results in terms of quality, precision and repeatability of the parts to be bent. Thanks to the camber, in fact, the two beams are perfectly parallel and it is possible to obtain total control of the angle. The E-Reflex then monitors the bending of the structure thanks to a network of sensors in the press brake and hydraulic system. The error is measured and compared with the crosshead position and oil pressure. We can thus calculate the actual height at which the punch is located, irrespective of deformations.

Clamping System

For tool management this bending machine consists of:

Gasparini AirSlide upper pneumatic clamping unit 110 mm high for European-type tools

Backgauge

The backgauge has five axes (X-R-Z1-Z2-X6) controlled by CNC. In addition, it has been implemented with an additional stop on one of the references.

CNC and software

The machine was equipped with the Delem DA-66S CNC, with Delem Profile Lite SL 2D offline software.

The DA-66S control combines the control’s robust core functionality with the latest productivity-enhancing enhancements. In addition to maximum accuracy and ease of use for the operator, it makes today’s press brakes more versatile than ever before. The integration of the machines into the production process chain is the strong point. The control operation, based on state-of-the-art industrial touch screen technology, gives access to Delem’s tried-and-tested revamped user interface and allows direct navigation between programming and production. Functions are positioned directly where they are needed, offering optimised ergonomics throughout the application.

The customer also chose to equip the press brake with the Tele-Link remote assistance function.

Security System and Laser Line

The safety system installed is of the Laser DSP-AP type, which generates a visible laser beam conforming to EN12622. The beam protects the operator from the danger of crushing between punch and die. This device allows the speed change point to be lowered by up to 4 mm from the plate. As a result, the upper crossbeam moves at high speed for longer, limiting the part of the bending sequence where speed is reduced to a minimum.

Also added is the Laser Line system for reference-free bending, which projects a laser beam onto the sheet at the bend line.

In addition, the following were installed:

  • 1 standard footpedal
  • 2 sliding front supports
  • LED lighting of the work area
  • Drive bar for tool positioning
  • ECO energy-saving package
