Press brake 115/3000 for stainless steel components

For Rizzato S.p.A., a company specialising in processing and finishing stainless steel sheet metal, we built a hydraulic press brake with a capacity of 115 tonnes and a table length of 3100 mm. This machine is characterised by its SuperCustom design, has a 500 mm open-height and a 300 mm stroke.

Gasparini Adaptive Crowning system

Sheet metal properties can vary unpredictably, making it difficult to achieve an accurate bend. To ensure a constant angle along the profile, Gasparini has developed the adaptive bending system, designed to compensate for bending of the upper beam. Using two precision sensors, the system detects any deformation of the beam in real time and automatically adjusts the position of the die, keeping the beams perfectly parallel. This ensures accurate and repeatable bending angles, regardless of variations in sheet metal characteristics.

E-Reflex Deformation Compensation System

The E-Reflex system automatically compensates for bending of the press brake side frames during processing. Using an advanced sensor network, E-Reflex continuously monitors and measures structural deformations, comparing the collected data with the position of the crosshead and hydraulic oil pressure. This approach allows the actual punch position to be accurately calculated in real time, thus ensuring a constant bend angle, regardless of sheet metal characteristics such as length, thickness or material variations.

Mobile pulpit with double monitor

The customer chose a mobile desk with dual monitors, designed to optimise productivity.

The first screen is dedicated to the Delem DA-69S CNC, equipped with Delem Profile-S 3D software, which allows advanced programming in both 2D and 3D, with automatic bend sequence calculation and collision detection functions. This configuration, with multiple tool stations, provides accurate feedback on product feasibility and handling.

The second (touch) monitor performs a support function and can be connected to company devices to monitor and manage production in real time.

Backgauge

The backgauge is configured with 6 axes (X-R-Z1-Z2-X5-X6) controlled by the CNC, with an additional reference for greater accuracy.

The backgauges include an integrated anti-collision safety system, which intervenes in the event of violent impacts: if the reference is hit hard, the device releases it to prevent damage or loss of position. In such cases, the operator can quickly restore the references to their original position.

Clamping system

The top clamping system is the pneumatic Gasparini AirSlide, designed for European-type tools and with a height of 110 mm. Thanks to the internal distribution of compressed air, components can be positioned all along the beam without the need for pipes or external tools. Adding or removing components is simple and does not compromise the system, preventing air leaks.

A further advantage of the AirSlide system is self-alignment: the punches automatically lift and position themselves precisely.

The bottom clamping is also pneumatic, ensuring a quick and intuitive setup.

Footpedal

The machine is equipped with a standard footpedal and an additional footpedal.

Frontal supports and lifter

This press brake has been configured with two sliding front supports and an additional support to optimise material handling during the bending process.

The front sliding arm is mounted on a linear guide with adjustable height and features a tool tray, offering convenience and direct access to tools. Easy to release and light to handle, the table top measures 600 x 140 mm and is lined with scratch-resistant polyethylene, supporting up to 500 kg for optimum strength even in heavy-duty applications.

In addition, a CNC-controlled sheet lifter has been installed to support and guide the sheet during bending, reducing stress and improving accuracy along the bending line.
