The 80/2000 press brake project for a manufacturer of air conditioning and vacuum systems

For L’Eurospyro S.R.L., a company specialising in the production of air conditioning and industrial vacuum systems, we built a hydraulic press brake with a capacity of 80 tonnes and a table length of 2100 mm.

The main technical features of the press brake

This bending machine was designed with a 400 mm open-height and 200 mm Y-axis travel. The working area is equipped with LED lighting.

It is equipped with the E-Reflex deformation compensation system, which controls the deformation of the side frames thanks to a network of sensors in the machine and its hydraulic circuit. This error is measured and compared with the ram position encoder and oil pressure. This way we can determine the real height of the punch tip, regardless of frame deflections.

Its Delem CNC technology is DA-66T type, thanks to which it is possible to quickly switch from programming to production. In addition, the large touch screen, which can also be used with gloves, makes the operator’s work easier. The hardware capabilities can handle any type of Gasparini accessory, even the most advanced, and the offline software is the Delem Profile Lite TL 2D.

This machine has been implemented with the Industry 4.0 package and the Tele-Link remote assistance function.

The choice of pneumatic clamping system

The clamping system features 100 mm high Toolever self-aligning lever intermediates.

 

Features:

  • Height 100 mm: does not require programme changes.
  • Front centring wedges: intermediate contact without gaps.
  • Double clamping with front locking for mounting inverted tools.
  • Opening and closing without special tools, just an ordinary key or screwdriver.
  • Tools remain in safe position even with the locks open.
  • Self-aligning: during closing, the punches are lifted and pushed against the intermediate, eliminating the need for preliminary bending.
  • They also support segmented punches up to 10 mm.

 

The lower lock is a manual type.

Precision and ergonomics of the press during bending: how we achieved them

The backgauge is 2-axis (X-R) CNC-controlled. It features an additional stop and reference.

 

It also features the F function, with references that can be moved from the front of the machine.

The customer chose to equip his folder with a foot pedal and two standard front supports.

The safety system adopted is the DSP-AP. It generates a visible laser beam conforming to EN12622. The beam protects the operator from the danger of crushing between punch and die. With this device it is possible to position the speed change point only 4 mm from the sheet, which allows the upper crosshead to maintain a high speed for a longer time, minimising the part of the bending process where speed is reduced.
