The sheet metal thickness meter for guillotine shears is a laser device that allows to automate the machine setting and reduce the risk of errors. It has two operating modes:
- in the first mode, it verifies that the sheet thickness is equal to the one indicated in the CNC cutting program. Should the material be different, it interrupts the cutting sequence and notifies the operator.
- in the second mode, the device measures the sheet thickness and, according to this value, the CNC automatically sets rake angle and blade clearance.
